About Lindsey Foss

I believe that therapy can help you to become your best self. I take a holistic approach to therapy, believing that mind, body, spirit, and relationships equally impact our lives. Whatever your goal is–from changing a way of interacting with your family that you don’t like or wanting to overcoming pain from recent events or events long ago, I will use personalized and collaborative process, to help you heal and propel your life and relationships to a better place.

I particularly enjoy working with couples preparing for, or in the early stages of, marriage or long term commitment. In individual therapy, I focus on helping individuals draw on their strengths and resources while examining patterns, both individually and interpersonally, that may cause them to feel stuck.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I was an educator and educational administrator. I am experienced in helping families navigate adolescence in addition to other challenges such as depression and anxiety. I believe in empowering families to find the right solutions for them both within the family and with other resources such as schools.

Originally from North Carolina, I speak Spanish and German and have lived in D.C. for eight years. One of my favorite things to do is explore the city by bike.

I am a proud Richmond Spider and have a B.A. in Global Politics and Diplomacy from the University of Richmond. I earned my M.S. in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland, College Park.

I am certified in the PREPARE/ENRICH premarital counseling program. I am also trained in teaching Yoga and Mindfulness to youth by Little Flower Yoga.
